WE WILL NOT BE RUNNING THIS EVENT IN 2021, HOPEFULLY IT WILL RETURN IN 2022

Join the Exodus 100 mile Ultra Marathon

The Exodus is a 100 mile (160 Km) Ultra Marathon across the Brecon Beacons starting on 3rd of December 2021. The route follows the full length of Beacons Way footpath with a total ascent of just over 23,000ft (7100m). The route takes you west to east across the Brecon Beacons National Park. Starting in LLangadog and finishing in Abergavenny offering a unqiue ultra running opportunity.

Shot

The race starts at 19:00 on Friday the 3rd December and has a 48 hour time limit to reach Abergavenny (19:00 on Sunday the 5th December). Meaning competitors must average 2.08 miles (3.3km) per hour to complete the race. There are 3 checkpoints on route that all competitors must pass through within a time limit. CP1 is a remote campsite, CP2 is Story Arms YHA, CP3 is a sports hall in Chrickhowell, each checkpoint will be well stocked with food, hot drinks and water for competitors to recharge and re-supply. There will also be floor space at CP3 to sleep if they so wish. Competitors will have access to a drop bag at CP3 (73 miles)

Every competitor is given a GPS tracker so we can see where you are at all times during the race and your family and friends can watch your progress online. The GPS tracker is also equipped with a SOS button, so if you do have a problem we can find you.

If you want or need to withdraw from the event after starting, we will transport you to your nearest open checkpoint where you can arrange your own transport home from there.

Countryside Code

The route of the race goes through farm land, farms, private forests and private estates. As such the countryside code must be followed at all times. You are responsible for the opening and closing of gates during the race. The route is marked with the Beacons Way wayposts but these can be sparse at times so you may need navigation skills at times.

What you get

  • GPS Tracker to use on the event. Family and spectators can track your progress online
  • Finishers medal
  • Food, Hot drink and Water at each checkpoint
  • Event safety cover

Optional Coach Transfer

Park your car at the finish in Abergavenny, get the coach to the start and then run back to your car!

Taking Part

You do not have to have completed any qualifying races prior to entry but you MUST be prepared to be in remote locations for long periods and adverse weather and propbably on your own. By entering the race you are stating that you deal with the conditions you will face in Wales in December. You are also stating that you can employ a level head in difficult conditions and not take unnecessary risks.

Don't be fooled this event is going to be tough. This is NOT the event for you if its your first 100mile event. There's a reason why the special forces use the Brecon Beacons for training and its not because its easy!
